Kim Kardashian has been one of the most public public figures of the #MeToo era.
The Kardashian sisters have always been vocal advocates of victims of sexual harassment and assault. In 2015, Kim was one of the early public faces of the #MeToo movement, using her influence to denounce Me Too founder Tarana Burke after leaked text messages said she did not support a wave of sexual harassment accusations in the media, according to People.
In 2016, Kim served as the headline when she allowed her husband, Kanye West, to call on an “open mike” during a concert, and a woman later claimed her friend was the one in the crowd who was sexually assaulted by West.
More recently, Kim was arrested in Las Vegas in October 2018 for felony battery and misdemeanor criminal trespassing for pushing a police officer who tried to take her into custody for bringing her child to the club where she was hosting a party.
But for all of those public stands on the issue of sexual harassment, the reality star-turned-business mogul has been most vocal about one particular personal incident involving her 18-year-old stepbrother and on-again-off-again boyfriend, comedian Pete Davidson.
The couple got together after Davidson and Kardashian became close to each other when she tweeted him out of concern for him as he sought treatment for depression and alcohol abuse last February. They shared the first kiss in late 2018, and by fall, the pair began living together as a couple.
According to E! News, Pete referred to Kim as the “love of his life” when the two opened up to their families and friends during an FYI series titled “Pete & Kim K: North’s Home for the Holidays.”
In a teaser for the one-off special, Kim can be seen revealing a few secrets of her “true love” when asked about the first word she’d say to describe her.
Pete’s response: “My girlfriend, Kim.”
Two months ago, Kim revealed on “The View” that the two had engaged in the same kissing techniques for a romantic selfie.
“I was sitting on his bed in his mansion in New York, and we tried to do the same slow, romantic kiss,” she said. “And we did. But then he just thought, it’s really hot when a guy likes a girl.”
Pete has since worked on talking about his depression, but in his recent credits that include new CBS series “The Neighborhood,” he was noticeably seated at Kanye’s side during Yeezy’s performance with Kid Cudi during a New York Fashion Week in September.
The two were then photographed sitting next to each other at the 2019 Golden Globes on Jan. 6, immediately sparking the talk of a possible reconciliation.
