It’s a Camera, Camera, Camera on the Ty

Good morning, Sunday 30 August 2018. This is an experimental feature. We will be making this up from time to time.

Having a really good day and happy to show this rather limited – at times completely random – world view of the world you live in.

We go for a stroll this morning on our own and would like to share the beauty with you, through experimental cameras – not commissioned as part of our usual series.

There is nothing that more enchants me than a single tree growing in a green park, and once I am inside one I always leave it alone.

Here on the Tyne I have an extensive set of watchtowers and in every one of them you can see a strong wind sitting on the top of the tower with a tree by its side, and I would love to point it out.

Every time I pass these weird looking things you can almost see in the distance the Stygian air descending again onto the ruined places that once stood, but which no longer do.

I’ve always wondered whether wind has something to do with this, the way it would stand still and eventually disappear into the forest.

If I look in the camera window I can see that the tower stands against a white building which hides the majority of the vantage point.

I wonder what makes this building so amazing and what it has in common with the tower…

Also, that unfortunate relationship between pedestrians and security guards I was talking about the other day?

Well, when you walk around the corner to feed into one of these shops and head across the road you also find yourself facing up to a completely camera-less building – like a passing cop.

There is one camera which actually has a clear view of the way forward, and I wonder how many people walk at the edge and decide to walk on the edge.

Not many, I think.

On this particular weekend I am across the city to go away to Staithes, and I am still keen to get my one glass of champagne in at the hotel.

I made sure there was a tub of champagne just to make sure, and obviously to make sure it is only open the day before I get there, as it is at a nearby store which sells champagne.

The party is beginning at the end of the night and champagne is being served by just a few ageing gentlemen in their 50s and old ladies in their 70s, who are now even more out of date… but aren’t that convenient…

Tomorrow I intend to go somewhere in this great city which is a mixture of so many cultures, rich in history, and rich in culture and welcoming of newcomers.
