The Vision of Britain report, the second such one commissioned by Optegra Eye Health Care, was developed in partnership with Boots Opticians. Director of Professional Standards at Boots Opticians, Eddie Watson, commented about the growing scourge of vision disorders within the UK, partly attributing this to lifestyle trends such as people spending an increasing amount of time on digital devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops.
Mr Watson also highlighted the concerning rise in vision problems among the young, pointing out that myopia (short sightedness) for children has doubled over the past 50 years.
